What I did in my preschool class this week for Fall themed activities

Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season! I love the colors, the flavors, the weather, and all of the super cute activities I get to do with my kiddos! I hope you enjoy these as much as we did 🙂

Fall Arrangements

  • Fall colored rice
  • Styrofoam blocks
  • Fall florals
  • Fall potpourri

Add all materials to the sensory bin and have kids make beautiful fall arrangements!

Pinecones, acorns, and squirrels

  • Beans and rice mixture
  • Pinecones
  • Acorns
  • Squirrel figurines
  • Pine trees
  • Shovels/tools

Fall harvest

  • Corn
  • Pumpkins/gourds
  • Fall buttons
  • Fall colored pasta wheels
  • Wooden mushrooms/people

Outdoor sensory

Every week I create a sensory bin for outside play with the alphabet inside. The kids loved this one! I used brown sand, and my fall rice mix as fillers.

Chlorophyll scratch-off

  • Oil pastels
  • Green acrylic paint
  • Coin

I made this page using Canva.com and printed each page on thick card stock. Color your page with oil pastels, and then paint a thin layer of acrylic green paint over each image. When completely dry, use a coin to scratch off the “chlorophyll” and see the fall colors!

I added some rock salt to a jar with some different fall spices: Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Pumpkin pie spice etc. Have the kids scoop small amounts into the mortar, and use the pestle to crush!

Fall Scenery

  • Fall leaves
  • Wooden figures
  • Fall buttons
  • Etc.

Print out a page and laminate it. Have kids use items to decorate the page! Great for imagination & open ended play 🙂

I have a full set of A-Z theme in my shop here (This set is not included).

Apple juice in a bag

  • Large Ziplock
  • Apples

Add apples to a Ziplock and freeze over night. Thaw out the next morning for a few hours and have kids use their hands or blocks to crush and squeeze the apples. When they are done, filter it, and give it a try!
